August is a special time at our resort, as we facilitate visits to Sri Lanka’s most significant cultural event—the Kandy Esala Perahera. Transportation to the evening procession and return to the hotel at night are arranged.

Festival Highlights:

  • Historical and Cultural Significance: A combination of Esala Perahera (a ritual for rain) and Dalada Perahera (a worship of Buddha’s relic).
  • Magnificent Procession: Featuring elaborately decorated elephants, traditional dancers, and musicians.
